ITV / Granada Studios - Manchester
Air Blast Coolers and Adiabatic Coolers were supplied for installation at the set of Coronation Street to dissipate the heat generated by the on-site CHP (Combined Heat and Power) and absorption chiller systems.
Vodafone - Dublin
2 x 8 Fan and 1 x 14 Fan Transtherm V-style Air Blast Coolers have been supplied to this site over two phases. The coolers were all painted for aesthetic purposes and supplied with coil protection mesh to help avoid debris being sucked into the heat exchange coils.
Best value for smaller capacities, vertical air discharge
Best value for smaller capacities, horizontal air discharge
Best cooling densities, footprint and value for medium and large capacities
Perfect when sited against a wall due to horizontal air inlet on one side and vertical air outlet
Transtherm’s adiabatic technology is an efficient, reliable and high-quality solution for directly cooling data centres in which the server temperature parameters allow for the eradication of compressor or refrigerant based technologies.
Their designs are based on real time weather data for the installation site and their knowledgeable team of mechanical engineers can quantify any specification decision with independent research and testing results for complete peace of mind.
Completing a build of such scale and complexity within just 16 weeks requires suppliers to adjust the design and build of their products in accordance to the build schedule and deliver them just in time for installation to prevent costly delays to NGD and our local contracting firms. The solution provided by Stulz and Transtherm is a great example of how data centres can work with trusted, reliable and dedicated supply chain partners..
We were ultimately thrilled with the decision to upgrade to a new ambient-only cooling system, rather than simply switch the old chillers for a like-for-like replacement; something which we didn’t think was achievable within our original budget.
Commissioned during one of the hottest UK summers on record, the new system has already demonstrated its performance credentials and we are delighted with the results.
As a contractor, your customer’s problems are your problems, so it is vital to have innovative and consultative supply partners that you trust to solve even the most complex challenges. When it comes to cooling, Transtherm is at the top of the list.
With a dramatic increase in digestion capacity and therefore gas production, the CHP system was working harder than ever before. With the CHP plant working harder, the original coolers were running at higher fan speeds for prolonged periods in order to manage the increased heat dissipation requirement.
It was clear the current cooler specification simply wasn’t able to maintain the engine and intercooler temperatures required for optimum engine performance. This was the point we turned to Transtherm.
Working with Transtherm and the team of engineers from Geoffrey Robinson, we were able to clarify a number of sensible operating conditions in accordance to ARUP’s requirements...
In a project like this one, the keys to success are undoubtedly collaboration and communication up and down the supply chain, ensuring that any changes to the specification are quickly and efficiently implemented.
By working with Transtherm, we have been able to dramatically reduce both the initial capital expenditure and future operating expenditure. The solution is also far more energy-efficient than alternative systems too, delivering considerable savings in electricity and huge reductions in water consumption over comparable adiabatic air-cooling systems. With sustainability key to the successful delivery of the project, the Transtherm system ticks all of the boxes.
Transtherm’s adiabatic coolers are a low maintenance, modern alternative to traditional cooling towers and offer lower Legionella risk and OPEX
Developed with energy efficiency and reliability in mind, our wide range of air blast coolers use the latest heat exchange coil, fan and control technologies
Our cooling solutions for data centre have been recognised by the DCS Awards panel and we are proud winners of the 'Data Centre Cooling Innovation of the Year' Award.
Adiabatic Retrofit bridges the gap between original air temperature design figures and on-site peak air temperatures, avoiding the possibility of overheating of your system
High water temperatures, low noise requirements and footprint considerations – Transtherm’s air blast coolers are designed to take all of these common factors into account
Combining both technologies from Transtherm, the Packaged Cooler & Pump Set Solution requires minimal system design, installation and commissioning time
Transtherm’s packaged free cooling system significantly improves the efficiency of the majority of chilled water systems and saves substantial amounts of energy
Available for commercial and industrial applications, Transtherm’s standardised pump packages are a straightforward and cost effective ‘fit and forget’ solution
Suitable for all standard refrigerant and steam-based condensing applications, Transtherm’s unit designs can be modified to ensure Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) compliance
Transtherm’s market-leading control systems complement the full range of dry coolers, adiabatic coolers, free coolers, air cooled condensers and pump sets
