We are delighted to have appointed Jonathan To as a research and development-specific engineer following the acquisition of an additional manufacturing facility last year.

Jonathan, who has been an integral part of the Transtherm team for the last three years as an Applications Engineer, has taken up the new, and incredibly challenging, role of R&D Mechanical Design Engineer and will focus on the innovation of sector and application specific cooling technologies.

Director, Tim Bound, comments on the appointment:

“With the transfer of our main manufacturing function over to our new, much larger premises, now complete, we will use our original 14,000ft² location to focus on the research and development of new, cutting edge cooling technologies. Our goal is to work closely with clients who have specific cooling challenges which can be solved by our innovative, highly technical, data driven approach to product design.

“Jonathan is a highly skilled mechanical design engineer with a broad and incredibly detailed understanding of industrial cooling and he is a natural strategic innovator when it comes to solving new cooling challenges, which makes him the ideal appointment to head our new R&D initiative.”

Working in both a collaborative and consultative capacity with clients, Jonathan’s appointment is a milestone in our future growth aspirations, as we begin to expand our portfolio of energy efficient, project-specific adiabatic and air blast cooling systems, with a research and development function designed specifically for more challenging, application and sector specific cooling technologies.

Commenting on his change in role, Jonathan said:

“Leading the way for the research and development of new cooling technologies is an exciting opportunity and one which I am confident I will succeed in. We are already working closely with the data centre design and build and process cooling sectors, to create cooling solutions which far surpass current market leading technologies.

“We look forward to bringing to market alternative, highly efficient, performance-driven technologies which will broaden our product portfolio and enable us to better service our core client sectors.”

We moved our core manufacturing, design, sales and management functions to a larger, more modern facility mid-2019, retaining our original site, on the same industrial park, which is now dedicated to research and development.
